Mr. Murphy and his family, including wife Michelle and new addition Kiera plan to build a new custom, environmentally friendly house in place of their existing 50’s era tract house some time in the next two to three years. The Murphy’s plan to make Smyrna their long term home.

In 2001 Mr. Murphy started a landscape design firm under his own name and then in 2002 converted it into an LLC under the name of Amenity Architects, LLC. The first non residential location of his office was at 3050 Atlanta Road in a shared office space just a half block from the intersection of Concord and Spring Roads. A year later he relocated to 3852 Atlanta Road and then finally purchased a site at 1616 Atlanta Road where his business operates today.

Mr. Murphy is the founder and the principal of Amenity Architects, LLC. His responsibilities include design, project management, and detailing for a variety of commercial and residential clients. He has worked on projects including theme parks, resorts, office buildings, mixed use, retail centers, hotel/motel sites and environmental assessments.

Sean has specialized in hardscape construction and has extensive experience in creating ‘signature’ amenity areas for larger projects. These areas often include elements such as streetscapes, courtyards, swimming pools, fountains and other recreational items. Sean also has experience in developing themeing and identity programs including signage, entrance monuments and site boundary identification.

Mr. Murphy is also a co-owner of the family owned business, ‘Murphy’s Garden Art’, a small garden retail center focused on sales of sculpture, plants and decorative garden elements. The offices of both businesses are located on Atlanta Road halfway between Marietta and Smyrna at 1616 Atlanta Road.

Prior to forming Amenity Architects, Sean was employed by the nationally recognized apartment development company, Post Properties, Inc. Part of his time with Post Properties included management of the design studio and staff at ’Post Landscape Group’. Post Landscape Group was a third party division that was dedicated to landscape design, installation and management for clients outside of Post. Post Landscape Group is now called High Grove Partners. Additionally, Sean worked as a senior project landscape architect for Post Apartment Development Division. He was responsible for designing the amenity areas for many of Post’s urban projects constructed in Atlanta, Dallas, California, Charlotte, and Tampa during the late 90's.
